JUNE 5: Eric Mostin scored his first Bay Cities Racing
Association Midget win at his hometown track, Lakeport Speedway, escaping the challenges
of Thomas Meseraull by mere inches. The finish was so close that Meseraull pulled up to
the finish line believing that he was the winner. Mostin was pushed to the line after
spinning in the first turn following the checkered flag. Closely rounding out the duo was

GARD SCORES FIRST WIN IN BCRA MIDGETS AT REDWOOD ACRES
MAY 22: Rookie standout Brian Gard scored his first career Midget win at the
Redwood Acres Raceway in Eureka at the annual Bay Cities Racing Association event.
Scheduled to start the 30-lap feature on the outside of the
second row, circumstances moved him to the front when Pete Davis experienced mechanical
problems in his Esslinger/Beast after being pushed off for the event.

COONS CAPTURES PACIFIC NORTHWEST CHAMPIONSHIP MIDGET
FEATURE
MAY 15.: Jerry Coons hooked up with the Stealth Motorsports West house car
to capture the 40-lap feature at the annual Pacific Northwest Midget Championship race at
the Douglas County Speedway in Roseburg, Oregon.
The Arizonan began his quest with a new automatic qualifying Midget track
record on the 4/10-mile paved oval in the co-sanctioned Bay Cities Racing Association and
Washington Midget Racing Association event, taking the lead from BCRA rookie Greg Dennett
on the 33rd lap to win over the 24-car starting field.

HUNT TAKES EXCITING VUKOVICH CLASSIC MIDGET WIN
MAY 1: Tony Hunt held off the repeated challenges of Thomas Meseraull to
score the feature Midget win in the annual Vukovich Classic at the Madera Speedway.
Hunt, the fastest qualifier in the Western Speed Racing Beast/Esslinger,
took the lead on the 26th lap in one of the
hardest-fought USAC/BCRA co-sanctioned Midget races in recent memory. Hunt started in the
tenth position in a compromise format agreed upon by the two racing organizations.

Michael Lewis Endures for 100 Lap USAC Western States Cash
April 10 - The United States Auto Club Western States and Bay Cities Racing
Association came together for the 2nd Annual Fred Gerhardt Classic for midgets Saturday
night. Under breezy conditions the speedy cars took to the one-third mile paved oval
Madera Speedway for a 100-lap 'throwback' style race.

ALVIS BEGINS NEW SEASON WITH FEATURE WIN
MARCH 28: Floyd Alvis began his quest for an eighth championship with the win in the
Bay Cities Racing Association feature at the Stockton "99" Speedway Sunday
afternoon.
The 69-year-old veteran drove his Interstate Batteries Stealth/VanDyne to
the 30-lap victory over Thomas Meseraull. Meseraull traveled to Stockton following
his win in the televised second "Twin 25" at the Irwindale Speedway the previous
evening. He drove the Bill Ferrari Beast/Brayton Ford from seventh to challenge Alvis over
the waning laps.
